Monitoring & Evaluation & Training
We support organisations in the development of institutional Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework that support the effective implementation, evaluation and documentation of organizational programmes and projects, to ensure they achieve the desired results and impact.
We bring a professional approach to MEL emanating from several years of experience. We support organizations in the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation approaches that are simultaneously results-driven and user-friendly. We develop data tools that enable quality reporting on program impacts and results.

We know from experience that at its best, M&E can contribute to learning and the improvement of work to bring about social change.
Howard & Associates promotes and supports approaches to M&E – including planning, monitoring, evaluation, impact assessment and learning
We use OECD/ DAC Criteria for all our project evaluations.
Our M&E training and consultancy work is grounded in 10 years of practical experience in developing and managing M&E systems, processes, methods and tools.
We focus on:

Supporting organizations to develop practical, efficient M&E systems, approaches and tools that are owned by and useful to the implementing team. Building skills and confidence of practitioners to use adapt and improve M&E themselves, without having to rely on external experts.
Building our own experience in a wide range of specialist areas including M&E of advocacy, M&E of training, M&E of capacity development, participatory M&E, M&E of research, Portfolio-level M&E and many others; we share this knowledge and practice as widely as possible.
Based on our own first-hand experience and peer-learning across our global network, we have published resources on all aspects of M&E, convened M&E conferences and webinars, and we continue to contribute to M&E thinking and debates.
M&E for Civil Society
We specialize in M&E for civil society organizations that implement in various thematic areas and challenge poverty and inequality across the world. We work with large international NGOs through to national NGOs, smaller community-based organizations and individuals working for social change – whether this involves short-term service delivery projects or complex global development portfolios, direct delivery or implementation with and through partners.

01: Baseline Surveys
We conduct baseline surveys to establish an account of the status of the project in the target communities in line with the project objectives. The baseline data are key as they help in defining the project implementation priorities and establish baseline measures and targets that help in monitoring project progress throughout the project cycle.

02: Midterm Evaluation
Our aim is to help organizations assess the continued relevance of the intervention and the progress made towards achieving planned objectives. This provides an opportunity to make modifications to ensure the achievement of these objectives within the lifetime of the project.

03: End term Evaluation
We conduct end term evaluation to inform stakeholders on the project success and document key lessons learnt recommendations as well as bring our project impact.
